Business, Management and Administration

Hello my name is Frederic. I'm currently a sales manager in an real estate office. Since a young age, I was really good at convincing people to buy me whatever I wanted. Every time I saw a toy I wanted, I pled to my mother to get it for me. She'd always say no at first. But in the end she'd give in after I used my magic negotiating skills (my mother's words) on her. As I grew up, that skill became very useful when I was selling things to people. To sell an object I used persuasive speech giving my opinion and judgement to clinch a deal. At garage sales, I'd have my small section with the junk I wanted to get rid of and every time someone would come and take a peek they left with an object that I had just sold to them. Often at the end of the day, my table would be empty and my pockets full of cash. My mom’s table was not as successful.
I always loved to engage in a conversation with a complete stranger and talk about anything that came to mind. I was never shy since my goal was to succeed and be happy by using a positive attitude. My father always said I was a determined young boy and an overachiever.
My first job, I worked in an electronics store and I was the new kid who was able to sell whatever a client wanted or needed. My boss was very impressed and suggested that I start a career in business since he believed I'd have the potential to become a successful business man. I followed his advice and I went to college to get my business degree.
The business I work for is striving. I recently got promoted to manager. I manage the sales of products and services for my company. I have to identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve any short or long term sales and earnings I make sure the sales are constant and profitable by planning deployment and management of sales personnel.

Hey everyone!!!!

My name is Tiffany and I come from Ontario Canada. I'm currently an actress looking for a big break to bring me to Hollywood. Acting may seem to be an easy job but in truth, acting is difficult. The only way to be good is to be outgoing and not scared of making a fool of yourself and being able to get along with your peers (being people smart). Since this could affect your performance and the mood between you an
d your coworkers. Trust me I have the experience and its better when everyone is friendly.
Since I was 14, I started taking acting lessons and having drama classes at school. I learned the basics into becoming a actress which is how to interpret and analyse a character from a script and acting like them. At first it was pretty hard but after awhile I got the hang of it. The first thing I did to do to start my career was to find myself an agent. My agent is responsible to notifiy me whenever an audition for a tv show or film comes up. Acting is like a compeitition; the best man wins.

Every time I received a script, I had to study it and my character. The hard part was to  memorise the lines of the script and rehearse them. The movements also have to be practiced. I learned that it is easier to dicuss the script and your character with the director and the other actors your working with in order to have a better feel of what your about to act out in front of a camera that will be seen by a big audience.

The working conditions are both positive and negative in my opinion. When filming, I had to be available for long hours which sometimes included my evenings and weekends. But one thing that isn't great is that I sometimes go without work for a long period of time. This affects my pay check since the salary I get is based on the number of films, tv shows I did.

Agriculture, Food and Natural Ressources

Hello my name is Jack Newman; I'm currently 25 years old. Since my early childhood I've dreamt about owning my own farm and running it. As a child, my parents would send me to my grandparent’s farm every summer. I became a custom to taking care of the cows after my grandmother taught me everything in that area. Furthermore, I learned to work with heavy machinery and cultivating the land. Farming became one of my greatest passions in life and when my grandfather finally passed down the ownership of his farm down to me I was jumping for joy.

Being a farmer holds many responsibilities and requires a lot of time. As an owner, my main objective is to maintain a good production. But production has a lot of requirements for it to be successful. First of all, I have to own a huge amount of land that is required to produce crops (plant, cultivate, harvest). When the harvest season reaches its peak I have to be ready to work longer hours than usual and in any kind of weather even though it’s storming outside. Second, the livestock that I own must be taken care of (fed, cleaning their stalls, etc...). This is a twenty-four hour, seven days a week engagement. Third, I need machinery to work on my farm since it makes my  job easier. My workers who operate these machines take in mind the dangers that may follow when the machine is in use.
When production is ready, my agricultural products (type of food, dairy products, etc…) are sold to the market. As owner I have to prepare the cost and write the records down. But running a farm is nearly impossible without the help of my workers. They are the reason why my farm is still running today. To hire someone I'm responsible to train them or give the task to an experienced worker. I supervise everything going on, on my farm making sure everything goes well.
Many people have asked me what my average salary of being a farmer is. The answer to this varies. If you own a very small farm that isn't very successful you may earn around 50K or less. But if your farm is very successful and really big, the salary could be really high compared to other jobs.
Working on a farm requires no type of experience but if you want to be an owner like me, you have to go to college in the agricultural department for a couple of years,  in order to learn better techniques of running a farm and growing crops. You have to be logic smart, body smart, self smart and nature smart to be a farmer since they have to be independant just like me.
